I finally found a Lahar after searching the net for a couple weeks. I picked up the last

one they had in stock....$65 + shipping.

There a a lot of different things I Really like about this knife. The best are the blade

shape, blade steel, and the handle shape.

Any other guys that really like the Lahar? Why do you like it and do you edc it? :)

I like the Lahar for its feel in the hand, steel and size. It really is an under-rated knife in my opinion. I've banged mine up some in use and I can get the edge back with minimal effort. That shiny blade is a nice departure from bead blast as well. My only gripe is there is a teeny bit of vertical play and I have felt the same thing in another that I handled. Like the tang and lock interface aren't quite matched. Nothing to get upset over.

The Lahar is great and really one heck of a value considering that you get a nicely finished Japanese made blade in a great steel all at that price. You would be hard to match it anywhere else. Something about the Japnese blade grinding is intrinsically superior to just about anything else..... the Lahars I have owned all come out of the box wicked sharp and took an incredible edge with just a bit of work.

Glad you were able to find one, hope you enjoy it and that it serves you as well as mine have :)

Oh yeah, the grind is beautiful, and super functional too. That deep belly and recurve eat it up, nice slicer for a beefy blade.
