Well I have a question for anyone that would like to help me out. First a little background if you will. I have a friend that owns a Browning drop point II hunting knife, model 3718, and he loves that knife and I love that knife. It has never let him down and is about the size that I like. I believe it is only 440C steel but that is ok. I was wondering if any of you have it or have heard of it, and whether you like it or think it is a good knife? But what my real problem is that I don't think they make it anymore and I am looking for a model of it. It looks like Hattori makes a similar one but I don't know if it is the same thing so if anyone has any information, that would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry, do not personally know anything about this knife, have you tried the web pretty extensively? Nobody on Bladeforums knows anything? Where are all the vets at?:D

thanks yeah I already found those links and the one at cutlerscove is sold and I think it is a newer model but that is the knife and the same sheath. but I still don't know anything about Hattori knives. Does anyone have any experience with them or know anything about them? or if they bought that design model off of browning or what?
thanks

I am the original owner of a Browning 3718. It is clean, sharp and little used. Does anyone have any idea what they are worth?

I just came across this post.
It seems hattori made the browning in those early years, so the quality of the recent hattoris are certainly not less.
Aside from the Cowry-X knife, hattori has one in VG10 at a much lower pricepoint.
As you know VG10 is an upgrade from 440C.
So If you like the model go for the hattori
