Bass Pro Shops $35 plus $7 shipping.

Out of the box:

Good to excellent fit but very poor finishing. Some tool marks and surface
scratches which is substandard for this knife even if made in “CHINA”.
See pic.

On the package it reads; “….care must be taken….knife is easy to open…and
very sharp…” both statements untrue.

Blade had a curve in it which I managed to straighten however, not even
sharp enough to easily cut kite string.

Nylon bushings maybe, I wouldn’t doubt if they’re plastic washers.

You really have to work the thumb stud to flick open, but flicking it open is
giving this knife too much credit when it’s actually a chore to open it.

Tight blade with no play but loosening just a little for easier opening results in
lots of play in the blade. You can’t win with this one.

The only plus with this knife is that the locking liner locks up rock solid.

The reason I spent the time for this negative review is because this knife has
a lot of potential but Browning obviously doesn’t see it. A few quality parts
and some care to the overall finishing of this knife, it could become a $50-$70 bargain.

And for the positive...........I now have a beater knife.

Thank you for taking the time to put up your review.Browning knives are NOT known for being quality knives. (Nor are Smith & Wesson knives.)
I hope you know that that is NOT real Damascus.

Browning knives are all over the place when looking at quality. Lesser expensive knives are made in China with higher priced items made in Japan, Italy and occasionally USA. The best thing I will say about Browning is that they usually are attractive. My Chinese made Browning slipjoints are first rate for costing less than $20 each but I have heard bad reports on the linerlock folding knives.

Thanks for the review. People tend to post reviews only when they're positive so it's good to see one that's different

The only Browning's I own are the Icestorm's.I got one in each color.VG-10 blade,aluminum handles,deep riding pocket clip,Excellent F&F IMO,smooth action...

Apparently the Icestorms are made by Mcusta in Japan. Judging by the Mcusta folder I own they should be fine knives.

Kind regards,

Jos
