Browning double-edged Damascus Hunter

First saw this knife in a Browning catalog circa late 1980's - couldn't afford it then -

Then it was on the cover of this book:

I've always like this damascus pattern - where the layers are like contour lines following the edge.

I suspect/guess that this was made for Browning by Hattori since the Hattori Damascus Hunter shows some similarities.

Hey, that's a pretty good looking knife, though I would quibble in calling it a hunter. Looks more like a "chute" knife to me.

You'd get agreement from me -
that's what it looks like to me too.

But as you see from its papers I got with the knife -
it's what the vendor - Browning - chose to call it.

However I have also have seen it referred to as a "Classic Fighting Knife"
(that's how they refer to it in that Gun Digest Book of Knives - 3rd edition)


BTW - is there such a thing as a real 'Cute knife?
I think I may have read somewhere it was Jimmy Lile who first originated the knife design, and name.......
