For those of you who own or have had a chance to fondle these knives - do you prefer the straight or curved version? Any particular reason?

The slightly curved one is in essence the same model as the Mcusta Stingray (I know, as I have the Ice Storm, and I gave my dad the Stingray as a present, so I could compare). Which means it's a splendid deal if you shop around for it. I don't know about the quality of the straight one.

From looking at the pictures I'm bit a bit torn between the two has far as the grip. The straight seems to have a bit of a thumb ramp while the curved has a deeper groove for your index finger... Hmm :\ Also, from looking at the pics, it would seem that the entire handle is hidden when the knife is clipped, is that correct?

I have both. I like the the straight for three simple, insignificant reasons. Every straight one I have has better fit and a smoother action than the curved and I like the thumb ramp on the straight one more as well. Not a huge difference but the straight ones (I have two) are spot on with blade centering and have noticably smoother action while the all the curved knives were a tad off center and the action wasn't as smooth even after disassembly, cleaned and lubed. The centering can be adjusted on the curved knives iI have but the action gets too tight if the blade is left dead center. Maybe this will work out with use. Centering the blade on all the Ice Storms is directly related to the pivot screw adjustment.YOu can watch the blade move left or right as you adjust the pivot screw.

Apart from that, I like the curved handle in hand a bit more. All the Ice Storms I have (five) work great and are fantastic knives though . . .

The Ice Storms disassemble and go back together SUPER easy. A nice side feature of their design. The materials and overal design and parts are the same with both models.

I like the curved a bit more than the straight. I can also hook the thumbstud of the curved on my pocket to act as a wave-type feature. Can't do that on the straight one.

Either way they are fantastic bargains. $40 for a knife with excellent steel and good ergonomics as well as fine fit and finish. You can't go wrong.

Isn't the clip positioned for tip down carry only? How do you wave that when drawing it from the pocket? O.o

I almost never use the clip. It attracts unwanted attention and I've bent one (not an Ice Storm though). I just carry it tip up in my pocket most of the time.

It's tip up because the clip is integral to the liner and curves out from the rear of the handle.
