My uncle has a browning knife, where it has 3 blades, one is a saw, one is a skinner and one is a gutter. Last year the lock for the saw broke and he keeps meaning to check to find out if there is a warranty for it and always forgets and I told him I'd look and I can't find it anywhere. So do browning knives have warranties and is it lifetime and if it does what is the adress to send it back. Thanks!!

You gotta give it more than two hours :p

Who made the knife? Chances are better than not that Browning didn't make it. So figure out who made the knife and then go from there.

Browning doesn't make the knives. They have some one make them and put their name on it. THAT is what he means.

A good start would be to be nice

I'm not being mean but having somone else make a knife and putting your own name on it is stupid, thats like you spending hours and hours on a custom knife you could sell for easily 500 bucks, giving it to me for free as a gift, me putting my name on it and selling it. Its just dumb.

If it has a stag handle it's a 524, if it's composite it's a 828. *I don't recall the gutting and saw blades locking on these two models.

Or it could be the newer model, F.D.T.

I have sent knives back to Browning for repair in the past they were always easy to deal with.

Contact customer service, they'll talk you through it.

Good luck.

That's how the world works.

What about all the store brand foods? You think the store makes them? Nope. Usually a national brand name makes them and they're packaged in generic packaging and sold as the store brand.

How about a hat with a Ford logo? Ford doesn't make those.

Browning isn't a knife company, but they are a company with customers who may be interested in a knife.

Browning may or may not provide warranty for the knife.

Your best bet is to call and find out.

Well weather or not other people do it still doesn't make it right, its dumb to just add your name on it and sell it for big bucks. :grumpy:

Hi, I bought a Model 524 at a yard sale. Nice knife. Altho, on the main locking blade it says,
"Browning 604 Japan". But looks exactly like the Model 524. Seems to be a nice game knife. I paid $12.00 for it case and all. Just like new condition. What did the knife sell for new, anyone know?
Thanks for hearing me out.

Ever heard of craftsman tools ? Well guess what they don't make tools, they're contacted out to vaughan, moore drop forging...ect.
It doesn't matter if they actually made the product themselves as long they stand by their product and the company who did make it.

Contracting out for your products has been going on for hundreds of years, so what's the big deal? Browning, S&W, Colt, others have been doing it for years. Many of the "old" companies did it. Just enjoy the knife regardless of where or what factory actually made it. It's the quality of the product that matters; not the factory or the name on the knife.
