I have finally figured out that the vBulletin Version 4.1.3 that Blade Forums updated to does not support my Browser -- Internet Explorer 6. Neither does You Tube and a couple other places. That is the reason I don't get the green circle with the left pointing white arrow to show what threads/posts I have posted in along with some other feathres of the new upgrade.

Everything I know about computers is self-taught. I've never had a lesson or had someone sit down with me to show me what to do. I simply just push buttons until I get what I need. Believe me, this has led to some interesting phenoms -- crashes, freezes, etc..

Here's my question:

If I upgrade (download) the current versions of Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Opera, or Safari, will I have to change my "e-mail" address or can I keep the one I now have? That would be a real pain if I had to change it.

You won't have to change your email address. I switched from IE to Chrome with email from two different providers with no problem. They are independent functions.

Thanks. I'm thinking of trying Firefox first. This oughta be good. Downloads are pretty much hit and miss for me but over the years I'm getting better. If you happen to look West today and see a Mushroom Cloud, that would be me attempting a download.

I have been using the latest Firefox for a while now. It's working great. I've never tried Chrome.

Because I'm familiar with Internet Explorer, I downloaded and now have Internet Explorer 8 on my computer. Everything here at Blade Forums seems to be working (now have green circle with left pointing arrow) fine and there are a lot of things that are showing up that didn't show up before.

I will wait a bit and experiment with Firefox and Chrome.

The download went rather well. No Mushroom Clouds, frozen screen, Blue Screen of Death or anything like that.

Thanks guys.

it's a good thing you did this AFTER the tornadoes or we'd have blamed them on you!

Ya just never know.;) Every time I get on a computer it's a crap-shoot -- hard to tell what the outcome will be. I'm so used to the Blue Screen of Death, computer freezes, blank screens, etc. that they don't bother me anymore.

Be careful, IE8 can be a virus magnet!!!
