Browser/Router question...

I have a DSL connection through Kabel Deutschland. My PC is plugged directly into my N-Band wireless router and the rest of the house runs off the wireless...the PC is hardwired/plugged. Recently, when I bring my PC online from hybernation, or just open my browser, I have to refresh the page repeatedly before I can gain access to Google/Homepage. Also...regularly during my browsing period I lose connection and have to refresh. Now...on my XBox I never suffer interuption, nor on my laptop...so wireless is good to go. Is the problem with the Router Im plugging into? Or is it a PC conflict?

Just looking for thoughts...this is beginning to irritate the crap out of me. Thanks guys.

Nothing? Now that concerns me. I was hoping someone would have some insight. Now I wonder if it is a PC issue.

The lack of response may be because this doesn't fit our usual "gadgets and gear" category.

While the mods may move it, I'd suggest it's your NIC driver's that are flaky and start there. The router is clearly routing all other clients within the home and wired clients tend to be less flaky than wireless (my neighbors keep me busy policing my AP's channel assignments, even on auto it can "miss" opportunities to switch to the less occupied channel in the band).

Update your NIC drivers on your PC, check the quality of your cabling (often overlooked) and check your errors, drops and other indicators of a problem on the interface. If the issue persists, replace the cable, then get a pluggable NIC (Cardbus, Express slot, whatever).

Good luck.

Thanks, Erichsen...I will just replace the cable and update the NIC. See if that works. I appreciate you taking the time.
