Just got my new Blade mag in the mail.Check out top of pg.103

Hey that is cool I havent gotten my copy yet. It must be from the Blade West Show. Steve wanted to know how things went there and some info on a couple of my knives.

Page 103: "The award for Best Art Knife went to Bruce Bump for his reproduction of an R. Bunting & Sons antique bowie"

The photo shows a sheephorn beauty, but NOT the dagger. Nonethless, it's a really good shot and all exposure is a plus!

Well they got it wrong then. The Best Art Knife award is for the dagger not the bowie. Cheesh. Oh well at least its exposure.
 
Big loss to all who don't see your dagger.Very nice piece! At least thousands will see the name and that helps.
 
Bruce, this is the knife they have pictured in the mag. This is a nice knife but the dagger really shows your tallent! I could make room for either one.

Wish I could,Bruce,but as I decided a few years back that I was a knifemaker,I'm lucky to afford supplies after the bills.As my honey has a lot af medical problems,I decided that money could'nt buy satisfaction and happiness,making knives gives me satisfactoin and happiness! Moril of this story? Can't afford a beautiful knife,only inspired to make mine as well.Welcome to the world of a maker! However,thanks for the offer!
 
Dang. Mine still has not shown up.

I have enjoyed Bruce's work as well as his website for a long time. He is a great asset in may ways to our community and it will be good to see some press on him.
 
I know Bruce has been around and it's good to see some recognition. My piont is if you want to make knives thinking your going to get rich,it's a long road! To the guy's just starting off,it's not an easy trip.Very few makers ever make a name or any degree of profit so awards and your name in print is A BIG DEAL!

So "Congradulations to Bruce for the recognition of hard work and tallent!"

I live for this kind of compliments. Like it has been said before a knife maker will not get rich finacially but the satisfaction is great.
