I have a mini-hatchet, which is one of the coolest things I've ever bought, but I haven't used it around 2 years. A friend borrowed it and abused it, and I think I need someone to repair the edge. I do not have the skills to do that now, at least not without worrying about ruining the convex edge. After repair, I am pretty sure I can strop with sandpaper and mousepad to maintain the edge. Had email address for a guy about 2 years ago to do this work, but we lost contact. Thanks in advance.cwd

You can Contact gransfors through their website or omahaknife.com does a lot of axe things and is a GB dealer. Either should be able to give you a quote from looking at a photo.

I don't know how many times I have read of ruined edges (mostly knives) when someone loans a quality piece to a brother, friend, co-worker, etc. A quality axe or knife is meant to be monogamous. They don't share their wife with you do they? Although in some cases it would still not be a fair swap. These guys do not use their own money on quality tools so they don't get to use one. OK? They buy a razor blade knife for $4 and abuse it then open the handle and put in a new blade. that is what they know about sharp things.

this rant was for the benefit of those who have not made this mistake yet...
