Brunckhorst Sidekick TAD Edition - what the hell?

Interestingly, the only way to buy that knife is to enter a drawing, the winner of which will receive the opportunity to buy the knife. Alrighty then...

Still trying to figure out what makes it worth seven bills...

me too.
i mean, i like it but would never pay that for it.
well, i wouldn't pay that for any knife actually

Yeah unless there's something I don't know then I'll just chalk it up to it being a TAD product and leave it at that.

CPM 154, Ti and CF with a hand-ground blade and a fancy lock that they don't even explain for $700. I'll pass.

It's TAD. Their business model is to take other people's products (licensed), put their name on it, and charge three times the original asking price.

So. I went digging for information on this lock. It resembles a compression lock, with a long slim piece of the liner engaging the tang. However it locks up strictly in the tang, not in between the tang and stop pin. Another thing worth noting is that there is a hole milled in the opposing liner that allows for wear and more lock up. Kind of hard to explain.

The maker's starting asking price for the non-TAD edition is $750.00...

I think the blade may be made of solid gold. It's kinda hard to tell though because the pictures are B&W

I dig the design, but too much green for my wallet. If I remember correctly, though, they did a run of midtechs that were more in the $250-300 range. For that I would consider it a lot more seriously.
