Anyone have any opinions regarding the Brunton line of binoculars. I like their compasses, are their binoculars of similar quality?

They are OK but not great. Binoculars are much more sensitive to price points than knives. Unless you go "all the way" and get something phase corrected you will ALWAYS wish you had. The cheapest ones with that characteristic are either the Roof Prism Cabela's Alaskan guides or the Pentax Roof Prism HDWP models. The Pentax can be had through Online camera dealers for just under $400. It is an EXCELLENT piece and you will never wish you had bought a "better" pair. The magazine reviews rate it the same as the Swarovski, Zeiss, and Leica: all of which cost 2-3 times as much
