brunton pocket transit info?

i plan to purchase a brunton pocket transit with swival head holder for tripod use. If anyone has experiance useing one i would apreciate any hints or warnings you would like to share.
I im cutting old property lines from compass headings have found property markers just need to make strait lines between them.
