Hey guys, I just posted Pictures from a campout/backpacking trip I did this weekend. While I was at the campsite I made the Skeleton for a large brush shelter and thought you guys might like to check it out. Here's the thread: Pictures from this weekends trip to Johnson's Hole

My ESEE-4 was on my hip the whole time and didn't see any use. But my 14" Tramontina Bolo saw tons of use. I apreciate my machetes more and more. My Bolo or 14" standard machete will probably be a permanent fixure on my backpacking trips. They are light and chop really well, plus to me they seem to have more reach then my hatchets. I'd say that the Bolo chops as well as my Medium french hawk.

Anyways I'm looking for comments on the shelters Skeleton, what looks good and what I could change for the future. Thanks,

Heber

Honestly you can't get a much better wilderness chopper than a well-made machete.:thumbup:

Good pics. You are right, it is hard to be the versatility of a good machete.

I just picked up a Condor 14" El Salvador machete which I think is a new offering from Condor. The 18" El Salvador machete is my favorite but this 14" size seems quite handy. Only time and lots of use will tell.

Gents, thanks for your comments. It was great using the machete and I learned a lot about them on this forum.

Matthew, got any pictures of your 14" Machete? Might have to check it out.

Well, I may not be Matt, but I do have some pictures of a 14" machete to share, and it's an Imacasa so it counts as a Condor. :p

It still chops, though the taper of the blade makes it a little less forward-heavy. Real good for slicing though!
