I've seen mentioned before on the for sale forums some MT LCC's with "brushed" bolsters. Brushed: what is it, what does it look like and can I do it at home?

"Brushed" simply means a satin finish, in other words, you can see lines from sanding rather than a smooth polished look. Of course, "brushed" could mean anything from scuffed or 120 grit sanding to a 1200 grit hand finish, so find out before you plunk your money down! A good brushed finish will have finish lines all running parallel to one another. If you have elbow grease and abrasives, then you can do a brushed finish at home with no problems.
