I am in the midst of a leuku flirtation and saw this one. I like the lines of the knife, the conventional belt sheath, and the stainless steel construction. Has anybody tried out one of these?
Yeah, that's the one that got me fired up on this. I guess there's a full tang 440C version coming too (for more $ of course). I'm wanting to try stainless - everything wants to stick to my carbon steel Stromeng. Thanks
They have the original version, wich is a stick-tang, and they have one "de lux" version with fulltang and wood handles..
Then you have the "custom" with fulltang and micarta scales (that`s a sweet looking blade)...
Where you from, just wondering because you are fami9liar with the Stromeng?..

I'm from Illinois. I have sort of gotten onto Scandinavian knives in the last few months. First the puukkos - got a Kellam (Ahti?) 3.7inch and a Helle Fjellkniven. Then I started studying up on leukus - got a small Kellam Tracker 5.7 inch but not a chopper. From what I could learn on some blogs, the Stromeng seemed to be highly rated. I picked up a 7.0 inch plain carbon steel one and also the military black finish 8.0 inch with fingerguard. I really like the Stromengs, but when I chop green vegetation with them (especially the plain steel 7 inch), the sap like residue seems to really cling to the blades and is not easily wiped off. The Brusletto looks like a similar blade configuration, but I wonder if the stainless steel might work better. I have used machetes and heavy 10 inch blades, and the lighter weight and compactness of leukus appeals to me for my purposes. I don't use them for cutting trees or splitting logs - that is when I reach for an ax or hatchet.
