BRUTE: A.G. Russell, Any Owners?

I was considering purchasing this model.I recently saw it on A.G.'s website touting how smooth and strong an action it has with the coil spring mechanism. Can the coil spring really impart the feel of a fine liner lock? He also offers two sources for the knife, one custom made in USA , the other in Japan(Production). Could it possibly be MOKI who produces the Japanese version? I always really liked the original Gerber LST size/weight and contours. The Brute appears to be a similar model with better blade steel/materials.
Any feedback from owners would be appreciated. Thanks!

What's interesting about the Brute to me is the 3/16" blade thickness. If I recall correctly.
