My son bought a Brute yesterday, after we got it home we noticed that the first and last holes in the handle had the screw and nut in them but not the middle one. Is the middle left empty to reduce weight? Are all the new Becker models this way?

We took it out last night and worked on a blown over but still live maple tree and it went through the limbs great!

Leef,
That is NOT as intended, and if you will email me your phone #, I will make arrangements to take care of it ASAP. My email is wfennell@rjsonline.net

Glad you like the BRUTE's performance, and glad to see that the knife worked as needed missing one of the grip screw,...we kinda over built everything about those knives,...but let us take care of getting your purchase complete. Our problem shouldn't be yours.

Thanks for being a customer!

Thanks Will and Mike. I received the grip screws Friday afternoon and installed the missing one.

My son is out of school for the summer so he has used the knife everyday since he got it and its holding up well. I've had him clearing lanes around the property and fence lines and he has used the brute to cut oak, hickory, and maple limbs and saplings. It will need sharpening by the time he is finished this afternoon, but I have been extremely impressed with how well the edge has held up on all those hardwoods. Even more impressive is the black finish on the blade. There isn't a single scratch or nick anywhere. This is even more amazing when you think about the way most teenage boys cut things, let's just say there is more strength being used than technique and leave it at that.

The sheath would require another post by itself. I think he's worn it a different way everyday so far. I like how easy it is to wear horizontally myself. When you buy some knives you just have to excuse the sheath and focus on the knife itself, but not with this one. I'd pay half the retail price of this knife just for the sheath by itself.

You guys should advertise this knife as teenager tough.

Leef,
Glad everything has worked out.....sorry for the missing screw!

We are especially proud of the way the sheaths turned out for the BK&T knives. The "Jarheads" @ EDGEWORKS deserve all the credit for an EXCELLENT sheath system! I hope the BRUTE keeps your son 'out of trouble' this summer
