Brute vs CS Bush Ranger?

I have only fondled both at the store.

The Bush Ranger is a thin, 7 inch bladed flat ground knife with a rubber handle.

The Brute is a 9.5 inch bladed heavy chopper.

The closest comparison Becker product would be the Magnum Camp Knife.

Not in the same league.
Two different knives with two different purposes.
I wouldn't call the Brute a "chopper", so to speak, but it does chop well. It is a heavy all purpose knife, great for chopping, digging, prying, hammering, etc...
The only thing a Bush Ranger can out-perform the Brute in is slicing due to its thinner blade.
Both are great knives and both are good "multi-purpose" knives, you just need to consider are your "multi-purposes" suited more to a smaller knife or a large one.
The Brute is just what the name says... A BRUTE.
I was talking with Jay Maines earlier this evening on the phone. I sent him my Brute so he could study the handle (he is re-handling a knife for me). He seemed really impressed with the Brute.

LT#3:
I have both the Brute, the Bush Ranger, and the Magnum Camp. The Brute is in a league of its own...chops, digs, hacks, pounds, and sharp as hell.
The Magnum Camp and Bush Ranger are in the same league as far as slicers are concerned but I would give the "edge"(pun intended) to the Magnum Camp....it both slices AND chops very well were-as the BR is more of a slicing belt knife for smaller chores around the camp.
Brute + Magnum Camp= anything you want to cut out in the boonies!!
