I think most people on here will agree that there is a great sense of enjoyment in the quest for our ' Perfect Knife '. Most will quickly say that there is no perfect knife as each will lend themselves better to specific tasks, I can't argue with that !
What we can attempt to find though is a knife that best lends itself to all the tasks we as an individual generally require. I was on a quest for a knife that wasn't too big, wasn't too small, was thin enough for carving trap triggers and fuzz sticks, was deep enough for food prep, was comfortable for prolonged use, was tough enough to baton when splitting wood, easy to keep sharp and could chop saplings and stuff when required.
I guess a good Camp Knife would fit those requirements.
For years I tried different blades looking for one that best fit my criteria, some came very close but I always managed to find some slight flaw so I could move onto another.
With each purchase I came closer and closer to my finding my perfect knife.........and then I had Bryan Breeden make me one !
When I opened the parcel my first thoughts were how ugly it was ! Couldn't blame Bryan because this was all my design. As soon as I held it everything changed, this ugly knife just felt different. The handle felt perfect, the balance was spot on, the blade cut like a laser. It went on to pass all my criteria without fault, I was perplexed, what do I do now !
That was years ago and I still feel the same way, I keep looking at new knives and trying to convince myself that they will offer something my Breeden doesn't but in truth I know they won't.
Thanks a lot Bryan you ruined my quest !

Anyone else found their ' Perfect Knife ' ?
