Dave,

Does it look like this. It is a symbol used in connection with the Adult BSA Woodbadge.
The most advanced and difficult course in Adult Scouting. Usually experienced adult leaders work to attain this honor. They wear a leather thong with three small carved pieces of wood around there neck as a badge of honor. 300Bucks

Wood Badge isn't really that difficult, it just takes a commitment of your time and abilities. It's leadership and team building training that takes place over the course of two three-day weekends. In addition each candidate has to plan and carry out five projects to help advance their personal skills and benefit their unit. I've just completed my first weekend and will be going back for my second the first weekend of October.

NE-II-188 Are there any Beavers in the house?
