Don't know why, but I've been stuck on this odd humpback style lately. This one is 9 1/2 inches oal with a blade slightly under 4 1/2 inches of 1095. Handle is bocate with 416 stainless fittings. Thanks for looking. :)

Here's one of the "seam" by the guard. I took a few photos of it but can't get anything good tonight. Time for bed. :D

I was so hyped up on coffee last night, I doubt I'd been able to! :D

Not really a close-up, but it shows the hamon better and the sheath that I just finished tonight.

Keith,

I understand that it looks cool, but what is the functional value? It's pretty enough not to need utility to justify itself, but I was just curious about your statement.

Gabe

I have handled knives with that hump before and I find it useful to ride my index finger up onto for fine control or to choke the tumb onto as a sort of thumb ramp - it helps. The same thing can also be seen on the Katz knives Kagemusha hunting knives. Michael, you are getting those hamons absolutely beautiful !! Jason.

Jason -- thanks, coming from you that's a real compliment! The ridge does actually give more control on finite cutting. But I just put 'em on because I think they look purty. :D

Well, you must have gotten the people's interest somehow. There have been 645 views of your first picture!

Wow, I didn't even notice that. It was probably all me though. :D

Well thank you. :D

I'm ready to see some of yours up here -- got any handles on those sweet blades of yours yet?
