Ban,

A lot of people think push daggers are gimmicky but it turns out a lot of the TPI guys who like RGEI knives, etc, are push dagger fans. They can be accessed ambidextrously, are incredibly concealable, and translate well to other skillsets - probably more intuitive even than grip and rip pakal type knifework.

I bet you could sell a fair number. Have you ever considered it? You could do a unique spin I'm sure. I was thinking a small (~2 3/4" blade) one, single edge, and a double-edged 3.5-3.75" one... the first would be more attractive to people who are in less weapon-friendly areas.

Ti also seems like a shoe-in for the push dagger as it's so tough and light and the edge is less important IMO on a push-dagger anyawy; ti and micarta would make for one wicked, light push dagger.

Thoughts?

PS - Loving my Gen 4 pikal knife!

Not sure when I will make one. But let me see what I can come up with.

I think they are harder to conceal than one of your style pikals.

That's surprising - I would think an ambi-oriented (meaning, tip down, centerline) push dagger would be almost hidden in plain sight, since the handle would be parallel to the belt, and with a shorter bladed one (2.5 ish) there'd be about 1/2" hanging down below the belt, if that.

Kind of splitting hairs anyway. I find the clinch pick slightly lower profile than the Gen 4, but not the Gen 3, pikal Ban makes. And concealability is not a problem with any of the above. For me I doubt it'd be a problem with a PD either. Hmm...PD might be more conducive to IWB, for what it's worth, but again not of concern to me.

Guess we'll see. I had a Mercworx Seraphym for a bit and sold it for clumsy draw/hard to conceal. Ban's pikals have no such troubles.

A pikal worn in the centerline for RH Forward Grip can also be drawn in LH Reverse Grip. I would think that the Pikal is easier to access in terms of draw. But a PD with a 2.5" blade should have a pretty darn small footprint. I suppose it would be possible to ambi draw as well if the handle is orientated straight up. But either drawing hand will require a break in the wrist which may or may not be awkward for some.

Just fooling around doing some sketches at home

I also dig that. I think the main attraction of PDs is that people like to be able to use basic boxing moves interfacing a knife in there. Also they do provide a more concealable footprint if carried IWB, while being slightly more accessible (IWB). My GF and mom have a little trouble concealing even the ultra-flat pikal la griffe OWB and I think this tends to be fairly common of women with their body shapes (wider at hips) and garb (tighter at waist than most men).

I definitely like my FGEU/RGEI clinch pick carried at 11:00 for left or right hand access, and the BT Pikal for right hand dedicated RGEI. But there are people who like PDs and Ban I think you could deliver that.
