Could someone with a BT6 post some comparison shots with a rmd or infidu?

Interested in getting one while still hanging around the exchange, and would like something to compare one to.

Thanks

Blade size aside, the scales are much thicker on the BT6.

Blade is a little thicker, too. And plenty wider. I'll try to get photos, but they'll have to be inside, and I don't have good lighting (or camera). But I'll try when I get home.

Here's a couple more

Perfect! The exact shots I wanted too. I've got a.twin to that swat. The du knives are so common, they make an ideal comparison.

I'm surprised that there is that big a difference!

And some more

Guess that bottom pic isn't like I thought it would be lol
Tried to even them up

yeah, the BT6 is much bigger than I expected. It ends up being great for chopping though, as the last 2.5 inches or so give a solid grip and the knife can be used as a ~8" chopper. I took it out camping for Thanksgiving and was really impressed with it. I did bend the tip doing some prying (just playing around and testing it. The tapered clip-point is more fragile than I expected, but I am very impressed with INFI) but it bent back without too much effort.

I still don't have a BT6 and will probably continue to resist. That being said, a drop point BT6 would be a new favorite.....or even better a 6 inch version of the BAE2.

What were you prying, and how much of the tip bent? Can't believe didn't take a pic of that as would have really liked to have seen it.

I'm tempted now to really kick the sh!+ out of mine and see if breaks, tip seems more solid than I'd ever need, I think. By no means feels weak.

Is there a reason everyone and there mother has stripped their bt6? Swear 2/3 of people that own one have, which havent really seen with any other model, seems many didn't care to etch the logo either, which is odd.

I wish the handles were smaller and it was choiless, probably last time buying any blade with G10 too as can't stand the synthetic plastic(ey) feeling, especially on bigger knives. Hope Busse offers multicolored micarta again .

I feel ya on the G10. I enjoy it on folders, stays cleaner. Hate it on fixed blades. It's pretty much a deal breaker for me.

There is quite a diff. in size between the two, particularly in the grip. But as much as I love the 'mandu grip, the BT6 grip is even a little better. More contouring, but it still has a cross section that lets you index it well. For me, the TAC (?) grips are the best. But the BT6 is very close, while still being quite different. IMO, the grip is about genius. The blade is great as well, but the BT6 Proto is even better as a general purpose blade. The BT6 blade is more of a pure meat-eater.

The bent tip would probably not have been a problem with the Proto. It's blade
Is thicker closer to the tip. Not as gentle a taper going so far back. Which is part of the reason it is probably my favorite of the two. I like the meat-eater, but I have more occasion right now for a general purpose blade.

Personally, for me, the G10 is the sh**s! I love it. If I had my way, I'd probably never buy another blade ever, fixed or folder, in anything other than G10. Or perhaps G10 or carbon fiber. I did get the TG-P and BHFSH with maroon micarta. But that was more for economy than preference.

The G10 does look nice, especially some of the patterns on the BT6.

Great pic, thank you. I love the comparison pictures. For one it really tell me how another knife will fit me. When these lists have several blades, more than likely a person would have handled one of them or maybe more. It gives us a good picture of how the blade will function too because now the weight can be estimated. Honestly there have been several blades I passed up during OP 2W that I would have purchased if I had seen them next to another common blade or even in a hand. Some of the blades just did not look like they would work for me at all. Once I see them posted and a forum member is holding them, I smack myself seeing how it really looks. A couple of pictures just don't tell the story well enough for me. Thanks again for the pictures, really love them.

I was stabbing the knife into fire wood sections along the grain, then prying out big chunks to see how much i could leverage out. I was getting about 1/4 to 1/2 of an inch deep, and when i bent the tip, it was about the last 3/8 of the tip bent about 10-15 degrees to the side.

I stabbed a few times and bent it back, but I would definitely have snapped my folders.

The Busse warranty is a beautiful thing, I feel more comfortable testing out the limits of this knife and gaining confidence with it, so i keep buying more and more Busse knives.

I stripped mine because I like bare steel better than coated steel, and I didn't etch the logo because I didn't have the materials or experience, and not enough of a desire to gain either.
