BTE thickness of WD-5?

I don't have one in-hand to measure but seeing as it looks to be the exact same as the WS-1020, just longer, I bet it's identical or nearly identical to the other similar SYKCO models (WS-1121, WS-1020, WS-621, etc) and measures approximately .015 BTE as these models do.

To be more exacting, depending on where you measure, some of mine are down to .013 behind the edge and only go up to about .019 at the thickest near the tip. Great geometry for a knife like this!

That would be terrific if it is that thin.

I doubt it's done at the that angle as most of my War Dog handled SYKCO models don't look like they're that acute, but thankfully, AEB-L is super easy to sharpen and put your own edge on plus, since the edge is thin, there's not a ton of steel to remove to get the edge you want.

If I had to guess, they're probably closer 20-22 dps.

Honestly, and I don't mean to be disparaging, but more times than not, in my experience, the factory edges aren't the best so you'd be much better off putting your own edge on it, especially given the fact that the factory can't put the optimal edge on there for you since they don't know what you're using it for.

Hope that's at least somewhat helpful!

Thanks
I have reprfiled several Busses to 15dps, they cut better then.
Even large Busse knives have had 15dps from factory
for instance Basic 10
Wish for 15dps, so I would only need to sharpen it🤗, but reprofileing won‘t bother anyways
