Just thought I'd mention that.

My K-tusk has had two months of daily use now. so you'd figure that any finish would show some signs of wear. but no, it still looks brand new (well ok, the corby bolts have tarnished). no sheath wear, no scratch marks, nothing.

Cheese dosen't even stick to this thing.

Yea for the copper powdercoat, it looks as awsome as it performs.

old pic, but it doesn't look any different

I do believe Mister Koster would have better info on that.

from what I know of powdercoating, it is simply a finishing technique designed to minimize paint/product waste. and is often used to protect specialty car parts from rust/oxidation.

Whoever thought it would be a good Idea to finish knives that way was a freakin' genius.

That's a great dimentional finish. Powder coat is a powdered paint(plastic polymer) made into a dust and using static electricity sticks to the knife(with little overspray) which is then heated to "melt" on to the steel completely cured with heat instead of evaporation/chemical reaction like liquid paint as long as the metal prep is good- it's the best-- which is what you got!

Yes, I worked with a local powdercoating outfit to get a proprietary coating that would be interesting, look cool, be durable and hard to wear off.

This is what he came up with.

I really like it....better than the basic black or green or tan coatings you see out there.

Just requires more care when doing the handle work...a bit of a pain...so I don't do it very often.

Glad you like it!

I've done a couple dozen or so knives with the coating....and have to do it in batches...might run another batch sometime...
