This knife arrived yesterday. Although I havent had much of a chance to do anything with it but cut up the priority mail box it came in, I figured some initial impressions were worthwhile. The knife has a blade length of about 2 3/8" with an OAL of 6 11/16" and close to 15/16" wide. This is a tanto shape, which I am not normally a fan of, but for whatever reason I had to urge to have at least one in the collection. The chisel edge is ground on the proper side for right handers and is extremely sharp. As I said, I didnt do much other than slice the box all to hell, but the edge did not seem to lose any sharpness over it. The pommel of the knife it tapered and comes to somewhat of a point itself. Its not a sharp point, but IMO was made that way to use as an impact device. If you were to hit somebody with just moderate force with it, im would imagine the bruise it left would be huge and painful. There are holes drilled in the handle, I assume they are to lighten the knife for comfortable neck carry. Unfortunatly I seem to not be able to wear neckers much anymore as my gut pokes out a bit to far and causes the tip of the handle to print through my shirt. The knife however does slip very nicely into the front pocket of my jeans, so the static cord (I think thats the right term) carry works very well for me. I beleive this knife is also avaliable with a belt sheath. The sheath with mine is kydex. It was obviously made to be just big enough to accomodate the knife, and nothing more, making it very compact and not at all bulky. The knife is held securely but is easy to draw. I would put this particular model knife in the same class as say Newt Livesays neck knives. They are nicely done, high quality and priced to be affordable to just about anybody wanting a very high quality knife on a budget. I intend to use this knife quite a bit, so after it sees some harder use, I will post the results of that as well. I can easily see this knife having a place in my normal EDC rotation of knives.

Hi Richard, thanks for the comments on your knife. Couple questions: what is the steel? What is the blade finish? Thanks.

The steel is 1095. Im not sure what the finish is, I would assume its pretty standard, like what Livesay uses on his. I dont know for sure though. I tried to find a website for him to see what info it had, but I never came across one. I could have sworn that I once saw an article in Tactical Knives magazine on his knives, but I dont seem to be able to find it.

Thanks Richard, I couldn't tell if the finish was etched, parkerized, or what. Looks like a really useful little knife. Good find! :)
