My latest offering. 10" of forged 1075, clay heat treated with nice and wavy hamon and utsuri. The fittings are heat colored damascus, guard, ferrule and pomel. The finial is heat colored mild steel. It is a take down piece.

The blade has distal taper to the tip, and feels really quick for it's length and width. The balance point is at the ricasso.

The handle is pommele grain bubinga (African rosewood). I shaped the handle in an octogon, and laquered the wood for a final finish. The laquer gives a lot of depth to the wood and shows off the pommele grain really well.

This is the first trailing point bowie I can recall making. A bit of a departure from clip points, but I like the flow of the knife. Won't be the last with this overall shape for sure.

(BTW, it need's home. contact me off forum)

Let me know what you think,

I like it, the upswept blade, being similar to a traditional Japanese profile, works well with the Hamon. If I hadn't just bought that Wakizashi from you, I'd be all over this like Bill Clinton on a teenage intern... :)

Nice proportions and graceful lines .Are you going to take apart the turkey with that ??

Absolutely beautiful bowie - great blade shape, cool hamon, gorgeous wood and sweet blued fittings. Yep, I think that's everything. ;)

I'm guessing there are a lot of drool covered keyboards about now. I know mine is.

Thats a carver if ever there was one really bold lines...i really love the handle treatment..Beauty Bailey!

I love it, especially the handle. I think the knife looks like a bowie sized bird and trout ;) :), love those upswept tips.

The handle looks very nice, and the hamon really sets off the blade.
Good stuff

Thanks for all the compliments on this one. It was a bit different, and wasn't sure how it would be recieved, but found a home quickly enough. Sure to be more similar to this one as I like the lines of it.
