Here's a couple of integrals I'd forged out a bit back and finished up before the last blade I'd posted.
Been slacking on getting some pics taken.
Blades : Both have blades forged from a crowbar I'd gotten from my cousin.
They both features some neat alloy banding all over the blades.
Clay coat for the hardening.
Handles : Both use figured bubinga. I had a section that had the sap wood, as well as heart wood, so it was used on the first.
Really like the look of it too. One has a wrought iron button spacer, the other has a buffalo horn button spacer. Brass pins to secure.
Finished with Tru-Oil.
The bolster are ended up a little small because of the size of the crowbar, so out of a desire to make the handles a little more beefy,
I added the spacers and they stand proud of the bolster area.
I love the first one, the second one turned out alright, wasn't quite as pleased with it as the first one.
I think the blade on the first one just really appeals to me more.
