What do ya'll think about these knives for generall woods use? Will someone post a picture of them with a 119? I'm thinking about the 105 but want to know what ya'll think of them first.

Ask, and ye shall receive...

FWIW, I LOVE the 105. I call it my "Goldilocks" of the classic Buck FB knives.
"This one is just right...".

Wow that was quick. Thanks for the pic Buckaholick.

LOL...I've never licked a Buck in my life....but there are some crazy dudes here that will get ya to smell the bolsters, sheaths, and who knows what other kinky fethishes they'd want you to join in on.

I hope the pic helped ya decide to get a 105. Then ya need to get the 102 and 109 ;)

Dang!!! You are so right John! I did lick the cheese off a Buck blade and cut my tongue! LOL...What a maroon!

Thanks for the first laugh of the day for me JB. :D:thumbup:

Hey, this may be off the topic, but... I find the 102 to be a great whittler - seriously - and what a neat size. Okay, not quite big enough to make huge tent stakes or spears, but cleaning off a walking stick, making skewers, producing a flute, etc - just a fun size, if the handle is just a tad small. Still, I would feel properly equipped for a day hike with a 102 - my 102BR, if it's Sunday, of course. I'd skip on up to the 119, if I needed more. I still haven't found a use for my 105BR - except between the 103 & 119.

Stainz that is not off topic because the original post asked how ya'll thought the 102 and 105 handeled general woods use. Thanks man.

Still waiting on a pic of a 109.

I have a 119 and love it. That is why I asked for the 102 and 105 with a 119. I also have a 110 but thought the 119 would be better for size comparison.

102 is perfect for skinning game and can even process a whole deer.
Just used my 802SS to breast by Spring Tom, worked like a charm.

Like you said, it is a great size for camp side. Maybe not for MAKING your camp, but definitely all that most people need for whittling some wood, making shavings, cutting up food, etc. You can still find the 802SS out there as well.

Stainz, I prefer the 105 over the 102. From cutting up chicken, dressing out game,(esp. boning) fish knife and general camp work. It just offers more knife for the package. Even in Shaman's 800 series I'd take the 805 as alittle better blade shape. To me the better Twin Set offering would have been the 105 and 103. DM
