Recommendation? BUCK 102 for my son

Looking at getting a Woodsman for my sons 1st knife. He is 14. Has mild autism so I will always be with him when he his it and supervising him. Figured the 102 would not be to large and awkward for him

Great choice! The 102 was my son's first knife. He's now 23 and still uses it for backpacking.

I love my flat grind 102.
It's always near the BBQ grill.
Little fixed blades are cool.

The Buck 102 is still my favorite knife for cleaning ducks. The slightly smaller handle may work nicely for your son too. OH

The 102 is a splendid all proposal knife. Also for kids because of the smaller handle. My youngest kids got one each when they became 4. It turned out to be a good idea.

Great 1st knife for a youth, just make sure that your significant other doesn't grab it for kitchen duty. I've lost a 602 & 102 that way.

I looked at 102s for years. Couldn't decide if it was too small or not, but I finally bought one and I love it! Excellent knife to start with and grow up with.

102 was my first deer hunting knife. Worked well for that and pheasants.
