Hello everyone and happy New year.
I recently came across a buck 102 woodsman
It's a beautiful knife stacked leather handle and is engraved LL Bean
It has a brown sheath does anyone know much about it?

Well, aside form it being one of the best trout and bird knives and campfire cook knife, what to ya want to know?

I fell in love with the 102 in 1969, when I bought my first one. I used the heck out to until 1999 when it warn down to a skinny toothpick from years of use. My better half bought me a new one in that year and it's been on my hip anytime I'm in the woods, or by the river fishing, or canoe camping, or any other outdoor activity outside city environment.

I may have more than one pocket knife, but the Buck 102 woodsman is my only sheath knife. I don't need another.

Thank you jackknife good stuff. It's definitely a great knife will constructed here in the good old USA. I'm curious about the LL Bean engraving in the stacked leather wrap handle. Is it rare in anyway and what year was it manufactured in and maybe how many?

Wow. That is great information thank you so much for a timely response. What would you put the worth if this knife at in an auction. Again thank you so much

A Buck 102 was my first good sheath knife. I got it in the late 1960's. Probably 1967, as it's just marked:

BUCK
U.S.A.

the 102 shape is really timeless... it just has the perfect amount of minimalist clip point to it, but still yells bowie, and is a useful size to do pretty much any task

I've got one of those that my step dad gave me a few years back. He cleaned dozens and dozens, maybe hundreds of deer with it and it was his only knife he ever took on any of his hunting trips. It has a lot of honest wear on it. I'll find it and try to post some pics when I get out of the hospital.
