The C behind the 103 is the date code of manufacturing. C means 1995, if the C has a dot in the middle it stands for 2011. 103 without date code means the knife was made before 1986, when the date code was established.
Yes, the blades on the earlier models were 3/16'' thick. Later that model was changed to 1/8" thick. Your 1995 mfg. 103 has a blade of 420HC and the early one has a blade of 440C steel. Do you have the sheaths for these knives? Welcome. DM
