Buck 105 Pathfinder - Blade Steel?

First time post. I've followed the forum for a while, lots of great info and people.

I've recently acquired a NIB Buck 105 Pathfinder, year of make 1993, per the "/" Date Code. Is there any for sure way to know what steel was used on the blade. I understand this was the time period Buck phased in 420HC.

Most would say 420HC on that one.

As to being sure, there are not many transitional type questions that are real sure.
 
bs, Buck began phasing in 420HC steel in 92. So, yours being a 93 model there is little chance it could be any steel besides 420HC. If you desire a different steel keep searching as they are around. Good hunting. DM
