The model 105 was my first Buck knife in 1973. Still have it. Hope you like this one even with the modified choil?

Desert Ironwood with Boarder Patrol shape, soldered brass guard, brass spacers with orange G10, brass lined thong and a tracker II compass.

Real nice work...professional.

The modified choil looks great, and your work is excellent.

I can't say I would have put a compass in the butt of the handle myself , but I also can't say theres anything wrong with it as long as it's a high quality reliable compass.

The modified choil is still very 'Buck Like'. Use the same choil style on the Vanguard/Zipper series, and I've seen some some early skinners with it.
When the edge ends lower than the choil, Buck calls it a 'hanging choil'.

I looked at my Vanguard and your right on. Good eye!
