Looking for a replacement sheath for a 30-year-old production model Buck 105 Pathfinder.

I'm hoping to find a commercially available, more tactically designed sheath. Something that I would not have to send the knife away just to have a custom sheath made.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Is the knife 30 yrs old? Very collectable if it is. I've asked around here, and can't find any info on aftermarket stuff. I'll ask the guy that does prototypes if he would be interested in doing a sheath for you. I have to dig him up and get some contact info. Someone in the custome forums might know a sheath maker for you.

Jeff;

My best guess is 30-some years. I bought this 105 model over-the-counter back when I was in Scouts. It still has its original thick leather black shealth but the blade has cut thru the bottom of the shealth.

I cannot imagine this is a collectible -- it appears to be no different than the 105 Pathfinder models currently available.
There is no identification number on the knife other than the model number.

In any case, its still a good knife in need of a new, slimmer sheath.

If the knife has a model # on the tang stamp, then it was made
in 1971 through 1986. If you just need a good 105 sheath, I have an
extra one you can get cheap. Bob Schrap makes as nice of a sheath
to be found, but his are all leather, pigskin, and perhaps
other natural materials. Kydex is available from The Cutlery
Shoppe in Idaho. They have some sort of a sheath division which
is advertised in their catalog. #800 231 - 1272.

Hi Larry;
Yes, the tang stamp just above the guard reads:
BUCK
105
USA
Other than that there is no marking on the knife other than a curious circle on either side of the handle butt.
Thanks for the date info. Any other help would be appreciated.

Hey Jeff don't feel bad, I was the one that thought the blade was 30 years old. But if Larry is right about the tang stamp than its slightly less.

Anyway I've had and used that knife for a long, long time and would not part with it now.
