This 106 Camp Ax is unused with a black micarta handle. Comes with correct Buck sheath but no box. Ax/Hatchet is near-mint - only blemish is a very small rub mark near the bottom on one side of the handle. Sheath is excellent/mint.

$150 plus actual shipping.

Hey ASP, how about some specs bro? Length, thickness, what type of steel...

Thanks!

Soltice,

OAL is 10 1/2 inches.
Length of ax blade from back to front is just a little over 4 inches.
Length of ax blade cutting edge is nearly 2 3/4 inches.
Thickness of tang/shank and blade before it tapers is around 3/16 inches.

I have no idea what steel Buck used for these but believe Joe Houser at the Buck Forums here can answer that question. I'll post a question for him.

I believe this ax was made in the early '70's. Perhaps Joe can help me date it as well.

Thanks for your interest.

I asked about the steel over at the Buck forum and was told that steel used for knives prior to 1981 was 440C. Belief is that applied to the 106, as well. The 106 was made in the early '70's.
