I've wanted to get a Buck 110 or 112 for a while now but the 7oz. plus weight always held me back. I know I won't carry it if it's that heavy.

Anyone have a review or any experience with the ecolites?

Thanks

Another thread over in the Buck forums was just started the other day as to how they have been holding up.

I don't have one myself, just giving you a heads up. The old Buck110 isnt to heavy for me so I never made the switch :)

I inhearited a buck with a plastic handle, that looks and weighs very close to what an ecolite weighs. I would trust buck on this one, they have never let me down.

I was looking in to buying a buck 110/112 ecolite but ended up going with the classic buck 110. the ecolite does reduce weight with the paperstone handels but the overall size of the knife is still the same (4 7/8 in) closed lengh. that is too large to carry in your pocket so you would just end up carrying it in the sheath anyway. plus a little weight on the 110 really makes it a great user knife. as far as an edc i guess you could use a buck 112 ecolite because of its reduced size (4 1/4 in) closed lengh. the thing that really makes the ecolite versions of the knife good is the price. they are pretty cheap ($45.00 from buck's website). so overall if you want to get an ecolite verson get the 112.
