Hi,
I recently got a Buck 110 3 Dots, but after a closer inspection, the third dot doesn´t look right.
Is it possible that the previous owner added the third dot to increase the value of the knife?
I bought it from a good seller, but the knife didn´t include papers or the original box.
Here´s a detailed picture of the three dots.

Thanks in advance!

Stngle dot on left looks like it wasn't struck as hard.

It is probably ligit.
I think Buck was hand stamping the tangs back then.
Also, the 2 dots had a dot on each side of the "110"; "*110*" not "110**".

Out of curiosity, why would a 3 dot be more "valuable" than a no dot, 1 dot, or 2 dot?

The way I understand is the 3 dot is the only knife that has both BOS and 440c. So if your a 440C fan it would be more valuable.

Yes the 3 dot was only a year or so in production 80-81. So fewer of that 3 dot generation. As others have mentioned, 440c, hollow grind and as I have heard some had free hand radius corners. Just before the switch to the 425m with radius handle and I’m not sure but centered bolsters starting then. I’ve been looking for a nice one in decent shape for a decent price.

afishhunter is correct. Knife looks legit. The complete row in the center looks like it gets lighter as it goes to the left leaving the single dot lighter.
They didn't make a 110 with 2 dots on the right and none on the left anyway.
