When I saw this knife for sale I had to grab it. Reminds me of the knives at my dad and uncle each had in their tackle boxes that I used to play with when we went fishing. It's really sentimental to me cuz both those men were a huge part of my life. This is something I will most likely hand down to my son! Nice find! Don’t let anyone talk you into sending it to the spa (they do terrific work!) but with the patina that is on the knife it looks just like it came out of one of those tackle boxes and is in great condition. I would use it ‘as is’ other than a drop of oil on the pin and sharpening as needed. Very nice acquisition! OH

Thank you for the advice. I personally love the patina and won't let anyone touch it. It's definitely going to be a user after I can locate a sheath for it

I’ll agree, it’s in great shape for that vintage and it has been taken decent care of. I’d leave as is, just some oil and sharpen as needed. You just don’t find many like that in these days they’re either broken tip, or sharpened to a needle.

Yeah when I saw that it wasn't sharpening that much and still retained the original blade profile I got really excited. Even my dad's look like a toothpick after he sharpened the hell out of it

Great find, especially with the memories that it will bring back for you.
The blade has 440C steel and it has the old blade grind. It's going to be difficult to sharpen with regular stones. I would suggest if you don't have a diamond stone that you get one. A 'fine' stone is what I use the most.

Thank you! I'll definitely get one!
