A post in here recently made me look at the tang on my 110 and realize that Ive been carrying it for over 35 years and still going strong. Ive bought, carried and still own a lot of knives but I still go back to that old beat up Buck. --KV

My advice is to hang on to it. I've kept some of my older Bucks from the late 70s to the mid 80s and I firmly believe that some of those older models were much better made. That was during Al Buck's era and I had heard he was very demanding of quality.

I love Buck knives but I must say that I've been very disappointed with some of their newer stuff. Especially the Chinese made models :(:thumbdn:

A good friend of mine that I fish with carries a Buck General model 120 fixed blade that he got about the same time you got your 110 and he won't let go of it for hell or high water.

I personally believe that the ones made during the late 70s to mid 80s were the best in my opinon and with the ones I've experienced. But I don't purport to be a bonafide expert on Buck knives either. Just my 2 cents

Yeah, I'm on my 3rd. Just bought it to replace the one I lost a couple years back. I also lost my first. :o But it is just too good and such a classic that I can't not have one even in light of my "modern" locking folders.

we need pics!

Not a 35 year old one but...

i had an oldie that i sold about 10-12 years ago for about 70 bucks (pardon the pun). the quality back then was amazing.

The one shown above was a limited run of G10 slabs and BG 42 blades. You'll have to watch the secondary market to get one now.

I have one, but it's not going anywhere.
