Buck 110 age?

Hi There,
New to the Buck Forum, enjoying it a lot.
My Father past away in 2005 and left me his old Buck 110.
I'm trying to find out the year it was made.
Can you help me?

Its a 3 dot Id be willing to bet the farm its a 1980

Yes, the current thinking is indeed 1980.

The last of the good old 440C and the first BOS heat treat all in one superb blade.

So it has been said by fairly reliable sources.



A knife to be cherished and there is no doubt about that.

Up top here is a sticky that has a data sheet documenting 110s from that era.

Yours is a good looking example. Just needs a little polishing.

Could be as late as early 81-there is some debate.

Yes, Ima its safer to put the 3 dots in '1980' or 81 . DM

Yes, production dates are rarely precise.....anytime we say a date, expect there may likely be some rollover one way or the other.

And then, of course, old blades may turn up and be used later.

And, certain special projects may sit around for a while like the Weiser Lock project mentioned in this thread:
