Just picked one up a couple days ago at the Hamburg, Pa Cabalas store. This knife is a beauty at $65.00. S30V steel fit and finish are beautiful plus a nice leather sheath. If your looking for a wicked sharp, working edc tool don't look any further this is a best buy. :)

I like mine. I'm not sure why they coated the sides of the blade and not the spine.

Thanks for pointing that out Fudo :p
Now I'll be asking myself that every time I look at it...which WAS a lot ;) !!!
Goose. :D

The Alaskan Guide 110 is definitely one of my very favorite knives!

It's an awesome combination of "old school" with modern blade-steel.
Now if only they would release an Alaskan Guide 112!

Cheers,
Allen.

Rat pack thanks for the link. I didn't get through the whole thing but found out more about the blade than I knew before. I didn't know about the Boo heat treatment. I love the look and feel of this knife, a 110 was my first real quaility knife purchased when I was in the Navy. I'm looking forward to trying this one ouy. I think its a perfect companion to my Cabalas D2 Griptillian. :)

Be sure and take a look at the Alaskan fixed blade Vanguards with the S30V. They too are pretty awesome. Great deal on all the Alaskan series!!!

Also check out the threads that talk about sending in 110's for BG42 blade upgrades. Thats a good deal also.

You and I did a deal on something a while back... Cant remember what it was now... That old age disease....

The last time I was in the Pa. Cabelas, they were out of the 110s.
I am hopefully gonna score another one this coming weekend.
Definitely an awesome knife.
