Buck 110 - Blade Play

Ok - after many, many years of knife collecting I finally got a new 110 from my local knife haunt. It does have a surprising amount of blade play when open - both up and down and side to side. Is there a way to reduce this somewhat without sending it back, or am I expecting too much??

There is no pivot screw exposed, so without taking the knife apart I'm at a loss.

I was really looking forward to having this one for a long time and handing it down to my son or possibly grandson, but I am concerned about the play getting worse over time.

HELP!!

Toyz
take it back to ere you got it and get another
or send it to buck and let them fix it!
they should have no play open at all..

If the store sells them in boxes, you should bring it back and open the boxes until you find one you're satisfied with. If they come in clam packs, well, luck of the draw.

Toyz,I've never seen one like your describing. But I'd send it back to Buck for a work.DM

Thanks all - it was in a box when I got it and I usually check but in this one instance I didn't. I guess it goes on a trip back to Buck - man that sucks. I was going to try log some hours with it.

Nothing worse than sending a new toy on vacation to the spa.:grumpy:

I did use it so I'm not sure the place I bought it will be able to take it back. I may try before packing it away.

yes try the store were you got it first!!!

Ive had mine for 10 years and use it regularly. There's a little side to side play with the blade closed, but it locks up very tight. I have owned a couple that had a little play with the blade locked open tho. Those went back to Buck and came back with no play at all.

My very well used 110 from around 1973 has absolutely no play in any direction. In fact I've never had a 110 that did.

You made the right move sending it in, Buck'll make it right, then you can put it through a workout.
