I'm new into this maddenning world of knives, but have always been interested. When I was 15 I bought a Buck 110, and flicked it open to death. I thought I had lost it, but last week I found it in an old box(18 years later). The knife is in great shape, except it ha a tremendous amount of side to side bladeplay. Is there anything I can do about it? Can Buck "fix" it? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks, JOSH

Chances are they can fix it up pretty easily. One thing though, if the knife has sentimental value, I would specify that you want it fixed and not replaced with a new one just to be on the safe side.

You can probably hop over to Bucks forum under makers/mfg section or email them and get an estimate on repair cost as well.

That one would probably have a 440C blade versus the 420HC they are using now. I would much rather have the original 440C blade. I would try and have them keep it if possible.

Ask Joe Houser over at the Buck forum. Chances are, he'll have you send the knife to him. It'll be as good as new, if not better, when you get it back.
