buck 110 broken tip fix

a co-worker asked me the other day if i could "do anything" to fix his 110. here are the before and after pics, i think he'll be happy tomorrow ;).

Nice. Did it thicken the blade out too much removing that much metal?

any extra thickness at the tip is not really noticeable (unless you put a new 110 next to this one). i re-beveled the spine in the curve all the way to the tip.
 
I've bought a couple with blades like that and sent them in for new blades ($10).
Honestly though, you did an outstanding job, most reshapes end up looking awful, this nicely keeps the shape of the clip point.

Very well done. You have a talent there. I'm sure that the co-worker will be pleased with his NEW knife.
 
cool to know a new blade is $10, 35 years ago a friend broke of 1/2 inch of the tip of my 110 extracting elk molars. He had a local knife maker regrind it and it still seems perfect. Mine looks the same as the pictured knife.
