First I want to apologize for not having pictures yet. My camera is on the blink and all pics are coming out blurry. I'll get my wife's camera and take some decent ones and repost in a bit.

I received last night my Buck 110 from the custom shop. It's a 110, NS, indigo wood scales w/rivets, finger grooves, and S30V blade. It's my first purchase from the custom shop and it is spectacular. One side is much darker blue than the other, but the fit, finish, and appearance of the knife is amazing. The S30V blade is super sharp out of the box, too. I'm glad I got one of the web special 154CM 110's as a user, because I think I'm going to be a wuss and not use this custom one, especially on hunting trips which take a toll on my knives. I ordered it on Nov. 1 and got it on Nov. 19. Pretty darned fast. I'll post pics in a little while.

Congrats on your first custom 110, Planetcat, and welcome to the Custom Shoppe club!

Planecat, yes a welcome as well . Eighteen days from the time you ordered it ... That is fast !! But then several of Buck's employees have had that mind reading training . So, I wouldn't doubt they got the telepathic message a few days before and were going on it when your order came thru . Three weeks time is probably more correct . ;)
Glad you like your new custom . I like that Indigo wood as well . Good choice . DM

Very cool cat! Cant believe you got it that quick, I think the website says 6-8wks for sure. Hope you enjoy it:thumbup: Thats an area I have yet to try out. I have my order ready in my head though:D

Plane, I like the Indigo wood on your model . Good taste !Have you cut anything with it or used it ? Let us know what you think . DM

Given the cost, my wife insists on gifting it under the tree for Christmas. It's my first S30V knife, so I'm curious as to what all the hype is about it. Also, I'm glad I was able to get one of the 110 154CM web specials, as now I can compare the custom S30V to the 154CM. I'm going on a hog hunt in a couple of weeks in the wine country (Sonoma), so hopefully I'll be able to try out the 154CM model on a bruiser. Skinning a wild hog will put any steel to the test.

And thanks to everyone for all the compliments. Buck far exceeded my expectations on this one.

You get a wild hog on your hunt be sure to take some pictures using your Buck knife and post them . We will love it and you'll be famous . Let us know how it worked . Yah, my wife did that to me one Christmas . I found out later that she hadn't found me a gift and this move saved her some time . Your call ... DM ;)

Your wife sounds like a very practical woman, David.;)

UH, 'pratical' is a nice choice of wording . She can size up a deal much faster than me . Their shrewdness often goes over looked because of the nice sugar coating . DM ;)
