I have a question for the 110 experts out there. I found one that has silver bolsters, ironwood handles with a kind of diamond pattern in the wood, and 042 on one of the bolsters, The guy selling it received it as a gift and doesn't know any more about it, but says its 042/100. Buck says it was made in 2007, but doesn't have any more info. Anyone ever come across one of these?

I've seen quite a few of them and have a couple. I'm not home to check, so I don't know if any of mine have NS bolsters or not. The handle work on the one's I know about, was done aftermarket as was the serial numbering on the bolsters. There was also a bunch with a basket weave pattern. In my opinion, not particularly valuable.

How was it determined that the handle material is ironwod?
