I have noticed looking around at some well known sites that the 110 has an enormous number of customized scales/handles. Amazing to me how many there are versus other production folding hunter blades. Just wondering if there are other makes of folding hunters or similar knives which have such prolific after market support, with customized scales, in a similar price range? I have noticed a lot of variety of wood at prices I can live with, although stone or bone is often outside of my comfort range.

Thanks for any insights on this.

The Buck 110 is sort of like the Harley v-twin. Something of a center of a whole aftermarket world, as you correctly note.

That said, there are lots of knife "mechanics" who will take pretty much any knife you have and modifiy to your liking.

And there are production knives sort of like the Bucks that (IMO) rival the Buck custom shop both in price and quality. Queen and GEC for example.

Can you clarify what are you looking for?

Thanks for that information. What I would like to see is something about the size and weight of my 2 blade folding hunter Case knife but with one big beefy blade and either a lighter colored bone or a rosewood color handle/scales. Still quite new to the world of traditionals.

Queen has a single-bladed version of the same folding hunter pattern (as the Case '65 pattern), and the models in Amber Stag Bone are gorgeous. They've also produced them in zebrawood (also beautiful). Not locking, like the Buck knives, but still a rock-solid knife (in D2, no less).

Northwoods had an identical Queen-made knife in stag a few years ago, though they might be hard to find now.
