I just bought this knife and the previous owner (a guy at a flea market) didn't really tell me any info on it, although He mentioned that the handle is water buffalo horn. Does anyone have any info on it such as how many were released, was it for a certain event, or if it really is water buffalo horn or something else. The date stamp is for 2007.

I would say it's a custom shoppe knife.the hidden rocker rivet and nickel bolsters give it away.

Absolutely, that's the last style of damascus offered as well, after it was gone,so was the option for damascus blades.

oh wait so this was an option you could pick from the build your own knife thing buck has? I never knew you could get damascus from it.

I didn't know they offered damascus either. Nice find!

The handle does appear to be water buffalo horn, which they do still offer.

Yes,damascus was certainly offerd in the custom shop,I have several from the shop .the give away as to it being a custom shop knife is the hidden rocker rivit ,and also if you'll take a close look at the finger grooves, usually the bolsters are part of the finger grooves,on these only the handle has the finger grooves, with the front and rear bolster having no grooves.look at any finger groove 110 and you'll understand what I mean.
